Repair Drywall Holes Triggered By Wallpaper Removal

It is time for a change and you decided to remove wallpaper in one of your rooms. Now you have a hole or two in areas where the wall paper removal tore into the paper and drywall board. You can easily repair those small holes in the drywall. Supplies can be purchased at a large discount retailer or hardware store.

Be sure to wear a mask when sanding the wall to repair the drywall holes caused by wallpaper removal.

Instructions

1. Open the Spackle container. Stir to mix it thoroughly.

2. Take a clean Spackle knife and scoop enough Spackle out of the container to cover the hole on the end of it.

3. Start about 1/2-inch above the hole and smoothly scrape Spackle down and over the hole. Continue to smooth the Spackle in a movement that is very similar to buttering bread or frosting a cake. You want the wall covered at least a 1/2-inch all around the hole area. Use more Spackle if needed to be sure the hole is filled.

4. Spackle the area until the hole is filled and the area looks smooth as possible. The Spackle can be an 1/8-inch away from the wall. It shrinks as it dries. You can come back and apply Spackle again after the Spackle thoroughly dries.

5. Check to be sure the Spackle is dry and pure white.

6. Put on your face mask.

7. Sand the area with a medium-grit sandpaper until the Spackle is smooth and flush with the wall. Sand with fine sandpaper to completely smooth the area out.

8. Prepare the wall for paint or wallpaper.
