Plastering a tile mural can be simple, but time-consuming work.
Plastering and maintaining a tile mural can be easy to accomplish if attention is paid to the application of the plaster and its sensitivity to water and humidity. When using plaster with tiles, you should make sure it is strong enough to support the weight of the tiles, particularly when mounting them against a wall. Different kinds of plaster vary in the amount of weight they can hold, so make sure you check the label.
Instructions
1. Spread the plaster undercoat onto the surface where the tile mural is to be mounted using the trowel.
2. Allow the undercoat to set, this could take one to two hours.
3. Cover the undercoat in the plaster using the trowel and let completely dry. Make sure the plaster isn't only dry on the surface. This could take a few weeks. Use a dehumidifier if you want to ensure it is completely dry.
4. Apply a plaster finishing coat using the trowel over the same area.
5. Fix the tile mural to the finishing coat with the tile adhesive using the trowel, applying the adhesive to the tiles in amounts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Any type of grout may be used to finish the tile once the adhesive has set, according to plaster manufacturer BASF.
