Steel studs, often used in commercial and industrial buildings, are slowly being preferred by home builders because of their advantages over wooden studs. Compared to wood, steel studs have lighter weight because of their hollow internals and have great resilience against fire, decay and insects. Metal studs last longer and can be more cost-efficient over time, despite their initial cost.
