When you become aware of a mold problem in your home, it requires your prompt attention. Mold can cause numerous heath problems, and this is especially the case with black mold. Black mold, or strachboytrys atra, is a slimy greenish-black substance that thrives in dark and moist areas. Mildewy odors are often the first indication of a mold problem. Experiencing allergic symptoms in your home is also an indication that mold is growing somewhere in your house. Cleaning mold off of drywall is a relatively easy procedure.
Instructions
1. Spray the area with a mister. This prevents mold spores from becoming airborne.
2. Mix 1 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water in a bucket. Add a little bit of dish soap as well.
3. Scrub the area with a scrub brush or heavy sponge until the black mold is completely removed.
4. Rinse the area with a clean sponge and clean water to remove the bleach mixture. Dry the area with a towel.
5. Disinfect the area to kill any remaining mold spores.
6. Place a box fan in front of the cleaned area. The fan helps the wall to dry faster. Place a dehumidifier in the room if it is humid or moist.
