Find your
ranking in Google to judge advertising effectiveness.
Blogs and websites live and die according to their keyword ranking. Your relative ranking in Google determines how many people will see your website on search engines, which will impact the number of people who click to your site and ultimately on your ads. The first step to getting your Google keyword rank higher is to know exactly where your site is now. Find your keyword ranking to begin planning a marketing campaign or to simply judge how well your advertising is working.
Instructions
1. Search your site to find what keywords you are trying to rank for. If you have used SEO practices when writing your posts or Web pages, you'll already know your keywords. Otherwise, pick out short phrases that signify the main ideas for your site.
2. Go to one of the many keyword rank checkers online like Google Rankings, Google PageRank Checker or Mike's Marketing Tools (see Resources).
3. Fill in the text boxes provided with your target keyword and your domain address. Set the search to the highest possible number of results if you're given that option.
4. Click on the "Search" button, or whatever the link is named in your particular site. You may have to wait half a minute or so for your site name to pop up along with the current rank number.
