repair a hole in drywall is something necessary to learn, especially if there are kids in the house who accidentally put holes in the drywall.
Instructions
1. Tear off the edges of paper and drywall so you have a clean hole to patch.
2. Cut the piece of window screen to cover the hole in the drywall and extend it half an inch or so around the exterior of the hole. Use the two thumbtacks to hole the screen in place.
3. Get the joint compound on the drywall knife and gently scrape across the window screen. Go right over the edge onto the undamaged portions of the drywall so that you are covering the entire screen. Allow to dry for a few hours, untouched.
4. When the damaged part you have repaired is dry, remove the thumbtacks and cover the entire screen once more. Allow it to dry for a few hours untouched.
5. When the patch is dry go ahead and use a small piece of sanding paper to sand down the uneven parts of joint compound and paint it. You will barely be able to tell where the damage occurred after it is painted.
