Clips That May Be Mounted Towards The Wall

Wall-mounted clips are simple and efficients ways to store items.

The walls of your home are an often underutilized space for storing items or displaying pieces of home decor. If figuring mount items to your wall is deterring you from using the space, consider wall-mounted clips as a simple, effective way to get your items off the floor or out of the closet and onto the wall. Wall-mounted clips are similar to wall-mounted hooks, but they utilize a clasping mechanism to secure items in place.

Individual Clips

Individual wall clips are either plastic or metal clips with a flat back that sits flush against the wall. The most inexpensive of these clips adheres to the wall with a double-sided adhesive tape, and the clips are often reusable as they can be pulled from the wall and repositioned elsewhere. If you are looking for a more durable wall clip to hold heavier items, like winter jackets or hanging wreaths, choose metal clips that either nail or screw into the wall for a more permanent installation. The benefit of individual wall clips is that they can be individually positioned to fit your available wall space. They are useful in kitchens and bathrooms for storing hand towels or pot holders.

Clip Racks

If you have several items requiring wall storage, racks of wall clips are a useful solution to your storage needs. Wall-mounted clip racks include a metal track that has brackets that go into your wall studs for security. Along the track are several metal clips that can be slid along the track. Wall-mounted clip racks are useful organizing tools in offices; each clip can hold an important memo or notice in a convenient location. Larger clip racks are strong enough to replace coat racks in an entryway or bedroom; moving coats onto the wall frees up closet space and eliminates the need for standing coat racks that take up floor space.

Decorative Clips

Though wall-mounted clips are often marketed as a subtle, simple way of creating wall storage, more decorative clips double as visually interesting wall decor as well as useful wall storage options. If your taste is modern, choose wall clips that resemble oversize paper clips; scarves and jackets slip over the inner loop of the paper clip to hang on the wall. For more country or traditional styles, wall-mounted clothes pins are a clever and unexpected way to store aprons or decorative wall hangings.
