PowerPoint programs can be used to liven up a presentation. They add vitality to the proposal, and their ability to combine multimedia into an on-screen presentation makes for a varied and understandable display. In a service proposal, there should be representations of past successes, as well as projections of future plans. It is understood that a company or individual making a service proposal with a PowerPoint presentation would already have some form of written proposal prepared in advance of planning the PowerPoint presentation.

1. Prepare the first slides as an introduction to your company, your key personnel and your proposal. This can be done with different fonts and pictures of your operation and examples of past service contracts that have been completed successfully. Once you have established your credibility in the fields of the service that you wish to provide, you can start the presentation of how you propose to complete the service that you are bidding on in your proposal.
2. Refer to your already-written service proposal and extract the main points from which you can make individual slides. For instance, you may decide to break your proposal into logistical areas, such as manpower, equipment, methods, professionalism, costing and so on. If this proposal is your first one, imagine what your prospective client might be interested in knowing about your company. Put yourself in your prospect's position and decide what you would want to know about a service provider.
3. Show your prospective customers that you have researched their companies by showing slides of their own operations as well. Clients will be more confident with a service provider who has taken the time to learn about them. At this stage, use the slides to lay out exactly how you plan to provide the service that you are proposing. Use tables and flowcharts to describe the ongoing progress of each step that you provide. Use actual photos of venues and sites where the service will be provided to enhance the slide presentation.
4. Use the features of the PowerPoint program. Add movie clips or pictures, as well as slide transitions, all designed to enhance your presentation. Choose slide designs as needed and slide layouts from the format menu. When presenting your proposal, do not simply read from the slides, as this will give the impression that you don't really know what you are offering.
5. Allow the clients to ask questions regarding your presentation by providing a structured skeleton of your proposal that you can fill in with extra information as required. A well-thought-out structure will highlight the most salient points of your proposal. This is the key to having your prospective clients consider your proposal when making their decisions.
