A drywall lift eases the amount of work required to hang drywall.
Hanging heavy drywall on the walls and ceilings of your home takes a toll on your body. A drywall lift reduces the amount of physical strain caused when finishing the inside of your home by holding a sheet of drywall in place while you secure the sheet to studs. To ensure the lift operates properly and holds the load securely, you must assemble the lift correctly and be sure all safety pins are secure.
Instructions
1. Pull each leg of the drywall lift away from the center of the base. The legs will click into place as each safety pin locks into place. Inspect each leg to ensure the safety pins have clicked into place before continuing.
2. Connect the drywall lift's mast to the opened base. Lock the mast into position per the operating instructions. Make sure the mast is secure to avoid injury.
3. Complete assembly by attaching the cradle assembly to the secured mast. Inspect each spring-loaded safety pin to ensure the pieces of the drywall lift are held in place.
4. Unwind the cable from the winch assembly. Inspect the cable for broken wire strands or kinks as you crank the handle to rewind the cable onto the winch assembly drum.
5. Tilt the cradle assembly until the load support hooks point toward the ground.
6. Lay a sheet of drywall onto the cradle assembly with the white papered side of the drywall facing toward the assembly.
7. Crank the handle until you have the drywall sheet in position.
8. Pull the drywall lift away from the area after the drywall sheet is secure. Lower the drywall lift before moving if you are securing drywall to a ceiling.
