Plants sprout in a pot.
Knowing and understanding plant seeds in a pot can be difficult to understand, especially for new gardeners. This can be difficult because they do not know how much soil to place in the pot, where to place the seeds, or how much soil to put over the seeds. Understanding plant the seeds will help the flowers or plants to sprout sooner and healthier than if they are not planted correctly.
Instructions
1. Pour potting soil or compost into the pot about three-quarters of the way up. This is done so that when watered, the soil will not flow out.
2. Spread seeds out on top of the potting soil or compost. Make sure that they are not all in one area but spread throughout the soil.
3. Pour about 1/2 to 1 inch of potting soil or compost on top of the seeds.
4. Water the seeds. Be sure to use a sprayer so that it just mists the seeds. If it is a hard spray, then the seeds will come up and won't produce.
5. Place the pot in a sunny location. Be sure to read about the seeds you are planting. Some will need sun all day while others will need to be shaded at times.
