Fresh paint A Abs plastic Wallboard

Wallboard is a term commonly associated with drywall. Fiberglass drywall is more difficult to paint than regular gypsum drywall, since the paint does not adhere as well to this type of wallboard. Fiberglass drywall also is not porous the way regular drywall is. Painting fiberglass wallboard takes a few extra steps compared to painting regular wallboard. However, you can still successfully paint fiberglass wallboard as long as you follow a few tips and guidelines.

Instructions

1. Lay a drop cloth along the floor to keep the floor clean and debris-free during the entire process. Inspect the wall you plan to paint, and brush it down with a duster to remove any debris or other materials that will get in the way while you're painting.

2. Sand over the entire surface of the fiberglass wallboard with 220-grit sandpaper. Move around the wall in circular motions, making sure to cover the entire surface. Continue until the wall is coarse and the paint will be able to adhere to it.

3. Apply latex primer to the surface of the wallboard. Pour the primer into a paint tray and roll a paint roller on the tray. Soak up the primer and begin applying it to the wallboard.

4. Move from left to right around the entire room, and allow the primer at least three hours to dry once it has been applied.

5. Pour the desired color of paint into a clean paint tray and roll a clean roller on the tray. Paint the entire area in 2- or 3-foot sections, beginning at the same corner where you first applied the primer. Continue around the entire room, applying paint in "W" patterns and then filling in the open spots with vertical strokes. Work from left to right until everything has been covered, making sure you apply paint in zigzag motions and don't lift the roller from the wall. Allow the paint three hours to dry before touching it or putting anything on the wall.
