Hang A Curtain Fishing rod On Cinderblock Walls

Cinder block walls pose challanges to safely hanging curtains.

You have searched and finally found the perfect drapery and curtain rods to fit your space only to be left wondering securely attach your curtain rod to your cinder block wall. The attachment needs to be strong enough to safely support the weight of your rod and curtain. There are materials designed to glue the rod to the cinder block, but this type of application is often permanent and does not provide the strongest attachment. You can achieve the the most secure attachment by using metal sleeve anchors.

Instructions

1. Measure the window and decide where you would like to place your rod. Mark on the wall the location where the anchors will be placed.

2. Select an appropriately sized masonry drill bit. A blue-colored bit specifically designed for masonry is required. The size of bit and depth of hole required will be shown on the metal sleeve anchor package that you will purchase. Wearing safety goggles to protect eyes from flying debris, drill holes in the cinder block as required for your brackets. Hold the drill firmly and apply consistent pressure until the appropriate depth is reached.

3. Insert the metal sleeve anchors and tap it lightly into place using a hammer. Always follow all of metal sleeve anchor manufacturer instructions for proper installations. The mounting screw selected should fit securely in metal sleeve anchor, expanding it and securing it in place.

4. Place wall bracket in mounting location. Hold the bracket in place while inserting the mounting screw through the bracket. Secure mounting screw tightly in place.

5. Hang the curtain on the rod and place the rod on the bracket.
