Make Use Of A Candle Mold Sealer

Candle mold sealer is necessary for most types of candle molds in order to keep the molds from leaking. Any mold that has a wick hole in the bottom is prone to wax leakage and should be sealed. Candle mold sealer usually comes as a soft, white or gray square of sealer that is used to keep the seal around the wick plugged tightly. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

1. Keep your mold sealer clean and dry. Keep it wrapped up in its packaging or in a plastic bag until it will be used. If the mold sealer is left out, it can harden or collect dust that will make it less sticky. Only reuse the same portion of mold sealer if the wax has been removed.

2. Make sure you have enough sealer for your mold before you start the candle project. If very little mold sealer is left and the mold has large holes or multiple holes, it may not be enough to do the job. In these cases, the mold will certainly leak.

3. Thread the wick through the hole. Turn the candle mold upside down and hold the wick to one side. If the mold has a wick screw, attach it to fill in much of the hole. Press the candle mold sealer over the hole, covering the hole and the screw if one is being used. Press it tightly to mold it around the wick and to make sure it sticks to the mold without leaving a gap between the sealer and the wick.

4. Turn the candle mold back around and make sure the mold sealer doesn't slip off. Set the mold on a flat surface and pour the candle.
