Put Lower A Leveler For Tile Flooring

Floor tiles will eventually crack or loosen if the subfloor under them isn't smooth, flat and solid. If you're tiling over a wood or concrete base that has gaps, holes or low spots, you can level them out with liquid leveler, which is a very thin cement. Some of the details of the preparation and drying time will vary based on the brand of leveler you buy, but the general process is the same.

Instructions

1. Vacuum the floor thoroughly. Use floor cleanser and a mop and bucket to clean it completely. Let it dry at least 24 hours.

2. Pour water and powdered floor leveler into the your bucket, in the ratio recommended on the packaging of the leveler. (The ratio will vary by leveler brand and elevation.) Make enough for the gaps, spaces and low spots that are on the floor.

3. Attach your mixing paddle-bit to your drill. Thoroughly mix the leveler. It should have a very thin consistency, just a little thicker than water.

4. Slowly pour the liquefied leveler onto each gap, hole and low area of the floor, starting at the edge of the room furthest from the floor and working your way across. For each area, make sure not to add too much leveler, so it doesn't gather up out of the low spots. It should level out as you pour it.

5. Let the level set for 12 to 24 hours. Thoroughly sweep the floor to take up any residual dust. Tile the floor.
