Use A Tv Wall-mounted Onto Drywall With Simply Aluminum Studs

Mounting a flat panel to metal studs requires special considerations.

The ability to mount a sleek and design friendly flat panel to a wall is not limited to using conventional wood stud-based walls. Metal studs, commonly made of aluminum, can support the weight of even the largest panels. Taking sound precautions and using the right hardware can make the key difference in creating a safe wall panel.

Instructions

1. Locate two metal studs on the designated mounting wall, using the magnetic stud finder. Mark the stud locations with the tip of the metal drill bit.

2. Hold the wall bracket portion of the mount against the wall and aligned with the marked stud locations. Level the mount. Mark through the four corner mounting holes on the mount.

3. Drill the four holes out through the drywall and the metal studs, using the 1/2 inch drill bit.

4. Slide a washer over each bolt. Rotate the toggle bolt wings on the ends of the bolts, leaving no more than 1-2 millimeters of threading at the end of each bolt.

5. Collapse the bolt wings with your fingers. Press them through the corner mounting holes on the bracket, wall and metal studs. Listen for the wings on the bolts to snap into position behind the metal stud.

6. Tighten each toggle bolt in a criss-cross pattern, using the Philips screwdriver.

7. Locate the four threaded inserts on the back of the flat panel. Bolt the two bracket arms onto the flat panel using the included hardware and tool.

8. Lift the flat panel onto the wall mount. Tighten any securing screws on the mount to avoid unwanted lateral shifting.
