Venetian plaster
is a versatile design material that comes in a paste or putty form. Its recipe includes marble dust, aged lime and pigment. Once applied to a wall or other surface, this plaster gives the look of a classic European wall.
Paint Substitute
The plaster can be a substitute for paint when a finish that is more durable is desired. It is not just a decorative finish, since a minimum of three coats is necessary and it must be applied with special tools.
Water Resistance
The plaster finish is almost waterproof and is appropriate for kitchens and bathrooms. Adding a water-resistant cement to the Venetian plaster mix makes it totally waterproof. Soap and water are safe to use on the finish, and when used outside it has a high resistance to rain and frost.
Other Properties
Venetian plaster is mold resistant, and is strong enough to offer protection against scratches and dents. It also repels most stains. If the surface does get damaged, it can be repaired easily.
