Mount One On Plaster Board

Mirrors are a fantastic decor feature in any room of the home. Homeowners often choose to install frameless mirrors in rooms to create the feeling of a larger space. Mirrors can easily be mounted to plaster board and enjoyed in a short time. It is very important to mount the mirror properly as an improperly mounted mirror can lead to it falling and breaking, which is not only a large mess to clean up, but a very dangerous situation.

Instructions

1. Measure the length and width of the mirror. This will determine where to mount the clips for additional support.

2. Locate the area on the wall where you will be placing the mirror by holding it on the wall. Use a pencil to create an L-shaped outline of each corner. If the mirror is circular, mark around the top and bottom as well as both sides. Ensure the mirror is straight using the level.

3. Drill a hole through the plasterboard directly along the outer corner of each L-shaped mark. Hammer one toggle end into each hole until the top is flat against the wall.

4. Squeeze the construction adhesive around the back of the mirror. This will form a strong bond between the mirror and the plasterboard.

5. Press the mirror against the plaster board, lining up the corners or sides with the marks on the wall.

6. Place one mirror clip over each toggle and screw in each bolt using the drill and Phillips head drill bit. You will need to hold the mirror during the clip installation. A second person helps with this.
