Key phrases To Microsoft Expression Web

Entering keywords
into Microsoft Expression Web requires a few mouse clicks and keystrokes.

Keywords comprise part of the metadata or meta tags on a Web page. Meta tags are not part of the visible Web page, but rather function behind the scenes to assist search engines and classifying and ranking your Web page. Today, many search engines do not lend weight to keywords when ranking a Web page, in particular the well-known engines such as Google; however, some search engines still consider keywords. Entering keywords into Microsoft Expression Web involves a simple process of editing the meta data for your Web page. You can accomplish this with a few mouse clicks, and then keying in the keywords best suited for your page.

Instructions

1. Open up your copy of Microsoft Expression Web and select the website you want to edit when prompted. The website will open with your pages showing as tabs across the top. Click on the page you want to edit.

2. Go to the "Choose File" menu and select "Page Properties. The page properties dialog box will load on the screen in front of you. Click on the "General" tab in the top menu and you will see the options to edit your metadata.

3. Place the cursor of your mouse on the text box next to the heading "Keywords" and click. Input the keywords that best describe the subject of your Web page. Separate each keyword or keyword phrase with a comma and then a space (bird, eagle, young birds, flying eagles, eagle social development) to organize the keywords for the search engine.

4. Click the "OK" button located at the bottom of the "Page Properties" dialog box. The dialog box will close out and save your changes to the Web page simultaneously.
