Block Key phrases And Websites With The Dlink Dsl G604t

The D-Link DSL G604T allows you to create custom filters.

The D-Link DSL G604T is a combination device that is both a DSL modem and a wireless router. If you have DSL Internet service, the D-Link DSL G604T can eliminate some of the cable clutter behind your computer by reducing the total number of devices that you need to get online. Like other D-Link products, the D-Link DSL G604T also has the ability to create custom content filters, eliminating the need to install parental control software on the computers in your household. Create a content filter on the D-Link DSL G604T if you want to prevent members of your household from visiting certain websites.

Instructions

1. Open your Web browser. Type the IP address "192.168.1.1" in the address bar and click "Go" or press "Enter."

2. Enter the word "admin" as the user name and password, and click "OK." Note that if you selected a different user name and password when setting the D-Link DSL G604T up, you will need to enter those login credentials instead.

3. Click the "Advanced" tab at the top of the window, and then click the "Filters" button on the left side.

4. Select the radio button labeled "Outbound Filter."

5. Select "Any IP" from the drop-down menu next to "Source IP."

6. Open a command prompt window by pressing the Windows logo and "R" keys simultaneously, then typing "cmd" in the "Run" dialog box and pressing "Enter."
