make Plaster Crafts
Plaster crafts are made with Plaster of Paris. It can be purchased at most hardware stores and some discount stores.
Instructions
1. Pour 60% Plaster of Paris 40% water this gives you a good mixture.
Stir plaster until fully mixed, pour into molds. Do this quickly because plaster dries fast and do not mix too much at one time.
The plaster mixture will start to solidify place the shaped paper clip or soda pop top half way into the back of the plaster at an angle. This way when the plaster dries you will have a way to place it on the wall.
2. The plaster mixture is poured into plastic molds and left to harden.
After the plaster mold is dry turn the mold over and take the plaque out. Allow the plaque to sit in a dry area for a day or so because the mold is still holding water. After the plaque is dry you can paint it with any water based craft paint. A spray gloss will give your plaques a nice professional look.
3. If you have excess plaster around the edge of the molds trim it off as soon as you remove the plaque from the mold.
