Drywall is the surface that makes up most modern walls. It's hung on the studs in sheets, which are taped at the seams with paper or mesh tape and then covered with a form of plaster called joint compound. When done properly, the taping will completely erase the seam so there's a smooth wall surface. If not done properly, there will be ridges, lines or other marks at the seam. If the seams on your drywall are painfully obvious, take a weekend and re-tape them. This project is best done in conjunction with re-painting.
